Treatments

Sports or exercise related injuries  are frustrating & can lead to weeks or even months off recovering. Each sport or exercise related activity have different risks factors that can contribute to injury. At MH Sports Podiatry we consider all factors that relate to the injury, implementing a treatment plan that is specific to you & your requirtements.

Bespoke Rehabilitation

Exercise prescription is an essential part of our treatment plans ensuring the successful rehabilitation of injured tissues & the prevention of future injuries. Using our advanced knowledge of the latest research around exercise prescription we can tailor a bespoke plan to enhance your outcome to treatment, optimise your recovery & minimise the delay in returning to you sport or activity.

We are data-driven & use a 3 step approachwhen implemnting our bespoke rehabilitation plans

  1. Strength testing, providing base line data
  2. 3 appointments to allow monitoring & progression
  3. Strength testing re-assessment

Our rehabilitation process can take 12-16 weeks & we also offer maintenance packages too.

Custom Foot Orthoses

Custom foot orthoses are often important in the management of foot, ankle & lower leg injuries & the management of knee & lower back pain. Our custom devices can provide off loading of mechanical forces, reduction in tissue stress, aid tissue recovery, stabilise joints & prevent further deformities.

When prescribing our custom devices we take into consideration our assessment data, your sport or activity & preferred footwear. We prescribe comfort, everyday & sports specific devices.

Our custom foot orthoses can be used to manage a number of conditions including

  • Achilles tendon pain
  • Foot & ankle pain
  • Knee & lower back pain
  • Gait abnomalities
  • Joint pain & instability
  • Plantar heel pain (plantar fasciitis)

Shockwave Therapy

EMS SWISS DOLORCLAST® Shockwave Therapy is approved by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) & is a clinically proven, non-invasive treatment for chronic soft tissue & tendon injuries including

  • Medial tibial stress syndrome
  • Plantar fasciopathy
  • Achilles tendinopathy

Using the Swiss DolorClast method produces low-energy shock waves & as a result, the therapy activates self-healing processes, helping to reduce pain & accelerate the recovery of soft tissue injury.
