Biomechanical & gait analysis consultations for performance & the management & prevention of sport & musculoskeletal injuries affecting the foot, ankle & lower limb.
Data beyond what you can see. Unparalleled insight into lower limb biomechanics, injury risk & performance
Sports Podiatry is the specialist management & prevention of sport & musculoskeletal injuries affecting the foot, ankle & lower limb. Persistent pain/discomfort affecting performance or function is common for both the elite athlete or active individual.
At MH Sports Podaitry we focus on the muscles, tendons, ligaments & bone & how movement & load can influence injury & recovery & determine biomechanical mechanisms that may be contributing or have contributed to injury. We then work with you to implement a bespoke management plan to resolve the issue & minimise the risk of further injury.
Our clincian has worked with professional & semi professional sports teams & individuals including those in league & non-league football & athletes performing at national & international level. He also works with non-sporting individuals & those that exercise for general health & fitness, regardless of age, who experience persistent foot & ankle pain/discomfort, which is not resolving through rest, self-management or other helathcare treatments.
At MH Sports Podiatry we also provide elite athlete & sports team screening. Targeted towards injury prevention & performance it can provide pre & in-season monitoring. Accurate & objective data will assist in identifying injury risk & the design of bespoke training plans, treatment strategies & interventions. Musculoskeletal assessment with data informed injury & sports specific testing protocols provide assessment of lower limb structure, alignment & function. VALD force decks analysis, strength testing & EMG analysis provides accurate, objective assessment of strength, movement, muscle activity, asymmetry & balance.
If required, in-clinic diagnostic ultrasound scanning can further aid diagnosis & injury severity.
Footscan pressure analysis provides real-time dynamic pressure & force data, for accurate & objective analysis of gait at a foot level. It is used to understand foot mechanics & its interaction with the ground. This can aid in identifying areas of high force or prolonged pressure, asymmetries or abnormal gait patterns that may be a risk or contributing factor to injury.
Data obtained can guide injury managment with regards to the foot & ankle & provide advice & recommendations regarding foot orthoses.
The 'Gold Standard'of gait analysis, capturing accurate & objective real time data of lower limb motion at the pelvis, hip, knee & ankle. Using 3 infrared cameras, 39 lower limb reflective markers & high definition slow motion video capture (250 fps), 3D gait analysis provides gait analysis, not offered by any speciality run store or majority of sports injury clinics.
Data obtained can aid in identifying abnormal gait patterns, injury mechanism & provide a detailed insight into running footwear & foot orthoses & their influence on the lower limb.
Our data informed approach assists in injury management strategies & interventions to optimise recovery, reduce injury risk & enhance overall performance.
We aim to ensure your foot & lower limb health remains a strong foundation for your performance & you return to to your sport or activity with greater confidence & less risk of further injury.
Industry leading & award winning custom 3D printed foot orthoses based around your dynamic function.
Using the latest technology in 3D foot scanning & analysis our data informed approach provides the most accurate custom device on the market, with tailored support & cushioning where it is needed most.
Professional advice & recommendations on running footwear based on individual requirments & biomechanics.
At MH Sports Podiatry we can provide detailed analysis & insight into running footwear & their influence on the lower limb.We can then provide tailored advice & recommendations.
